How come in the rodent section?

esp with hamsters, people arent willing to take their pet to the vet

theyre are way too many people who do not deserve a pet because they wont take care of it

you dont see it in the dog section as much tho why is this? How come in the rodent section?
i do not know but i think they perceive them as disposable pets and it blanks me off.How come in the rodent section?
Im one of these who do take my small pets to the vet,and yeah i do agree many people feel less inclined to do it because they were a cheap pet to purchase, however its not acceptable and its inhumane to make any animal, small or large suffer.People with dogs spent a load of money so they're wanting to maintain the dogs quality of life more, especially since the dog wil be the animal that gets most attention in the house and also the dogs injuries are far more noticable. I spent 拢500 or more on my rabbit before it died,in operations and everything else and I would do it again anyday. When people purchase a small animal, people need to know its a big commitment but there isnt much information telling people about this.
Cheaper pets make people less inclined to spend money on them- I've heard people saying things like ';I'm not going to spend 50 euro on vet fees for a 5 euro hamster!'; and suchlike. People who have cheap pets and don't bond with them very well often think of the pet in terms of money like this when it comes to vets.

Dogs are more expensive and they're more traditionally regarded as a close pet or family member- even though people can love their rodents very much and some people don't care about their dogs, no-one says 'a rat is a man's best friend'. That part of it is just due to perception- they're a small pet that many people don't bother to bond with or to train, so they are sometimes seen as more disposable.

Then there are wild rats so people think rats don't really need vet care.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I do take my pet rats to the vet when needed - and pay the rather expensive vet bills.

The people who don't take the animals to the vet probably have reasons something like this:

- They don't consider their pet rodents to be worth the money, given that if it dies, they can buy a new one.

- Their parents don't want to spend money on a pet they got probably at least in part because they thought it would be cheap.

- They didn't realize that small animals get sick and cost a lot at the vet. It's really quite incredible how ignorant some people are.

What bothers me is when these people ask for veterinary advice and then get defensive when people tell them to take the animal to the vet. Idiots. If they can afford a computer and internet, they can damn well afford a vet if they make it a priority.
anyone who really knows the answer to that doesnt really want to say it. you know, as well as we all do, that creating a bond with something you have to keep in a cage for fear of it starting an infestation in your home, as well as its being a very inexpensive ';pet'; i call them food, is nearly impossible. they all have the same mentality and no REAL personality. some are nicer than others, some eat food out of your hand. none of them are worth spending 75 bucks just to see the vet when you can get another item of food for $4.99 at the local pet store.
