What type of rodent should i get?

Hi, I am a busy teen boy and i want a rodent but idk which type I should get! i want a loving %26amp; devoted small animal that is low on cost, maintenance, and odor. Please give answers like rat, gerbil, hamster, guinea pig, or mice. please help!!!What type of rodent should i get?
I personally think Hamsters are the best =D!!

There not too expensive, the most expensive part is the cage, if you get a good one they can cost from 拢35.99+.

Hamsters near me don't cost very much.

The food is pretty cheap as well I get muesli.

Then bedding is cheap again.

The toys, treats add onto stuff though. -you can also get them a little house to sleep in and even a toilet!!

Also you may want to consider getting them a play ball, so that when your cleaning out the cage it can go in there. (That's if you chose to get a hamster).

You can usually get good cage deals were it will come with a house, water bottle, food bowl, wheel and all that.

Syrian - Syrian are known to be better for first time handlers, because they're easier to tame, don't bite as much (sometimes don't bite at all =])!

Dwarfs - Are smaller and have a tends to bite more. I would recommend these for more experienced hamster owners.

Hope I Helped!

[Hamsters rule! =D]What type of rodent should i get?
Gerbils have very little odour and can live much longer than hamsters and mice, they can also live in groups which make them more entertaining to watch!!! They don't make much mess so they are easy to clean and they can become very tame and friendly.
I've had all the rodents you could imagen and I will have to say I like mice every thing is cheper and I have today the baby ones are funny and they will not bite if you hold them and to get them from is petsmart because I've had rodents from other stores and they've died in a couple of weeks
Get a RAT! well rats last 1-2 year and maybe more and mine have never escaped their cages even when i leave the cage door partly open! and hamsters are hyper and too crazy sometimes and rats they can be sitting in your lap or on your shoulder and they just sit there and sniff you. you actually have time to know them and love them and mine never bit me once not once! you have to raise them right and it is soo cute when u give them food cuz they take it very gently and they are soo sweet!
hamsters r gr8! they are 5- 10 dollars at most pet stores, the cage costs 19- 39 dollars, and the food is normally 5- 8 dollars. these animals are good if you are busy because you only have to clean their cage 1 time a week and you have 2 feed them. they don't smell as long as you take care of the cage. they have 1 disadvantage:

they only live less then 5 years. their lifespan is normally about 2 years. I hope I helped you make a good choice and that you love ur pet.

p.s. you need to get a syrian(golden) hamster since you are probably a first-time owner.
Rats :) They are actually quite intelligent. they are much like dogs. they play, do tricks, love, are loyal, and their tails arent that bad. its actaully pretty fuzzy, it doesnt feel like snakeskin. I have 2 and they are beautiful girls. if u have any doubts just go to here http://OneMillionrats.weebly.com its my website.

also rats dont cost that much. i only spent 80 dollars on my 2 girls. most people say, for your rat to be happy, u need to pay 200 dollars. it aint true. look into this cage http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js鈥?/a> my girls love it and its very cheap for its size. it can hold 2 full grown rats. good luck! :)
Rats are relatively low maintenance, and are very intelligent and easy to train. However, their lifespans aren't too long, so if you want something that will last longer, don't go with a rat or mouse.
do never get a mouse or rat i hade them in my life alls thay do is find ways to Escape out of thar cages.etc..

get a dwarf rabbit thay rock and are so cute!!!!

whan my mouse/rat escaped everyday and got in the walls it was the worst!!!!!!=(

good luck with ur new pet

=)
You could get a rat but they don't live very long. If you want an animal that lives longer you could try a guinea pig.
