we just disected this owl pellet in class today, and i have a couple rodent skulls and a few bones..... How long will they last in open air.. or maybe even a ziplock baggie?How long can rodent bones (from an owl pellet) last in open air?
They will last quite a long time. you could use a zip lock bag, or alternativly you could laminate your findings onto a piece of paper. they will only start to bio-degrade in the right type of envoronment, eg, outside in the damp.
