Rodent meaning mouse, gerbil, hamster, something small that would fit in a small cage. anything 3-4 maybe 5'; would be good. Looking for something kind of cheap, not like a rabbit. Already have our cage. Like to cuddle the animals. Also has 2 dogs and 5 cats (3 are hunters). What would be a good rodent for an 11 year old, who has had 4 rats in the past?
You probably want to get a hamster or mice. Most other rodents are much larger than 5 inches, are high maintenance and expensive to care for. Both hamsters and mice are cuddly, cute, and relatively easy and cheap to care for. Mice do need to live in small groups of the same sex or they become very lonely and depressed. Most hamsters are solitary and sould be kept together. Just make sure that you never leave your cats or dogs alone with your pets!

You probably want a hamster. Syrian hamsters are larger and like to cuddle more. Dwarf hamsters are faster and more fun to watch, but harder to hold. Dwarfs also prefer to be kept in pairs, while Syrian hamsters will fight with other hamsters. Syrian hamsters are about 5 or more inches, and dwarf hamsters range from 2-4 inches. They also come in different colors. Most hamsters are white, tan, or gold, but they also come in black, silver, and brown. I hope this helped! Good Luck!
If they like to cuddle, then a teddy bear hamster. If they like something exciting and bouncy, then a gerbil.
if i was you id get a guinea pig there pretty cool i have 2 and they dont bite and there easy hold and they let u cuddle them :) you can keep them in indoor cges away from cats x
Why not continue with rats? From what I've read they're supposed to be much better pets than other rodents.
try a couple of hamsters, a turtle or even a hermit crabb
