Just curious as to what the Yahoo! Answers community thought.Best species of rodent to be a pet?
A Guinea Pig!
They are NOT boring!
They are intelligent funny animals, and people who say they are boring clearly have not ever had one, or experienced them!
You can have such unbreakable bonds with them and they are so loving back!
Or A Hamster, They are cute and funny too :)Best species of rodent to be a pet?
a rat,we had a white albino one and my son had it in his bedroom, they are highly intelligent little things and also very clean in themselves.believe it or not but it used to lie on my son's pillow with him and watch tv,it was also very playful and went everywhere with him, it also never once bit anyone.you must get it as a baby though and then you can train it,they are also very quick learners.
I've had guinea pigs, hamsters, Degas, gerds, gerbils, mice, chipmunks, rabbits and even a squirrel (along with a wallaby and a crow and many other none rodents), but I've always preferred rats to be honest, they are Intelligent and alert, and can provide good company.
african pgymy hedgehogs!
alot of people never think of a hedgehog as a pet but they are great pet andd are so cute.(look up pictures of them online)
you can stroke them and all they eat is cat food.if you have cats or dogs dont worry they wont attack it my dogs and cats are fasinated but scared so they wont go neer it.
hedgehogs are the best!
if you can get a nice one.. any of them..
but i liked my mice the most they were sweet and didn't mind being handled..
i have never had a ferret but ive been told they get suddenly attack..
guinea pigs are kind of boring but good if you like to just hold and pet it.
and hamsters it all depends.. i personally liked mine they never sat still so i enjoyed just watching them..
It's rather frightening that Doctor Happy thinks ferrets are rodents but anyway...
http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/home/ is the best site for you to investigate rats, which are by far the best (but then I am biased). The most experienced rat-keepers in the world are there.
rats all the way.
they are smart, don't smell too bad, they like human attention, they don't bite (unlike most hamsters, which seem to bite you regardless.) i mean i can pick up my rats when they are asleep and they don't throw a hissy fit like my hamster.
Degu.
beautiful and intelligent creatures.
but really, i'd steer clear of rodents. Ferrets are the way to go.
contrary to popular belief, if you keep their cage clean, they don't really smell.
manbearpig.
Chinchillas(if they count)
:D hamsters are always the popular cuteness! ;D youtube hamster on a piano! it's adorable!
A rat
Guinea pigs are boring and sit there doing nothing
Gerbils chew stuff all day and are boring
Hamsters and vicious and boring also
Rats are cool companions which you can handle easilly after it's used to you
Hamsters take up a small amount of room, dont smell, and are realtively cheap(supplies included)
Guinea Pigs are more interactive
hamsters or mice
I love them both! (but I like hamsters best! )
surely a capibara or a wolverine :)
the speices of rodent would be a hamster beacause they are so lovebale and they dont bite rats are really weird
guinea pigs
gerbils
chipmunks
squirrels
hamsters
but out of all of them, I prefer chipmunks the most.
Rabbits or ferrets.
Squirrels
Hamsters!
