I want some kind of rodent. I can't have mice cuz parents are scared, and I can eaither have a guinnie pig one?

Guinnie pigs are cute but smell. Hamsters are cute but small. I want something that won't slip under the crack between the floor and the door, and something that doesn't get out of it's cage. I have dogs that might think it's their lunch. I prefer a guinnie pig but what is best to have?I want some kind of rodent. I would recommend 2 gerbils. They are very fun but pretty small and they dont smell since they're are desert dwellers. They are best to keep in a 20 gallon tank with a screen lid, lots of bedding so they can tunnel, and thats cheap and they cant escape very easily . Good Luck!!guinea pig is how u spell that :)I want some kind of rodent. I can't have mice cuz parents are scared, and I can eaither have a guinnie pig one?
Rats are pretty awesome, pretty smart, and entertaining. But if your parents don't like mice then they probably won't like rats either.

I know a bunny isn't a rodent, but they're really awesome too and don't smell that bad, especially if you litter train them.

You may try a chinchilla or a ferret?
Chinchillas and ferrets are very expensive animals to keep. They are also very time consuming pets.

Ferrets are awesome pets IF you know how to care for them PROPERLY, but they have a distinct level of smell. If you cant handle guinea pig smell, you wont be able to handle a ferret. Trust me, I own 3. I know the smell. And ferrets can get out of their cage, depending on how cheap the cage is.

A lot of people associate ferrets with rodents (they're weasels, they EAT rodents)... so your parents would probably have issues with them as well.

I agree with the rats though... awesome pets, very smart, very affectionate... but since your parents dont want mice... rats would be out. Though it wouldnt hurt to ask.

If you dont want something small, then your best bet is probably a rabbit - but keep it away from your dogs if your dogs will think a hamster is lunch.
i think you should get a hedgehog they are cuties and great pets!
Chinchillas although expensive are great to have they have little to no smell and can become very friendly unlike hamsters or gerbils. my chinchilla wat about $120 and the cage was about $100

But after those cost its all cheap just buying the food some treats and beding. Also chinchillas have to take dust baths they cant get their coat wet and need to be in a warm environment about 70 degrees.

I purchased my chinchilla right when he was weaned and have now had him for 6 years. Unlike most rodents chinchillas have a long life span around 20 years so keep that in mind.

if that doesnt work rabbits are good pets as well and can be kept outside for the most part.

think about how much money you are willing to spend and then i think you will know what will work best for you.

I hope this has helped
