Yesterday i was walking my dog and it killed a small rodent-like creature. I think it kinda hopped around, and it was grey, i think it had a short tail. It was like the size of a mouse, any idea of what it might be?My dog killed a small rodent?

It sounds to me like either a mole or a shrew. Both look similar to a mouse with a short tail.
either is was a mouse or was a squirell
