My mom said she saw a big rodent type thing. It was in our backyard, at first she thought it was a possum, but it sounds nothing like one. The animal had a diagonaly pointed tail, about a foot long, it was white/grey with no hair and had a long nose. Can someone tell me what it was? I am curious.What was this hairless rodent?

Seems a lot like a possum. What did it sound like though? Maybe it wasa possum making a noise not regularly heard by your mom, like if it was in pain or something.
There are no naturally hairless animals in the wild, but very commonly excessive mange or another skin illness causes hairloss anywhere from thinning fur, to complete baldness.
It is a Naked Mole Rat.
